GREAT NEW PRODUCT!!!

So usually I don't promote a product on here. I try to keep my blog all about tips for Avon reps but I just had to tell you all about the new fragrance we have called Brazilian Beat. It is AMAZING! At our sales meeting a few weeks we got to test a few of the new products and oh my God! It smells so good. And it leaves this sort of glow to your skin. It just became available to reps this campaign and I'm telling you...you're going to get compliments on it. I just love it! I just had to spread the word about it. I love Avon! Happy selling...

Be Creative!

Today, as I was bagging up my catalogs to deliver around the neighborhood I had a great idea to create newsletters for my neighborhood. This would spotlight the many sales and mix and match deals Avon puts out every catalog. This helps my consumers in particular because I live in a very busy neighborhood so getting straight to the point is best. So, to all reps, be creative! Understand your target market and do what is best for them whether that is creating a newsletter, delivering magazines and samples every week, etc. Happy Selling!

Learning as you go...

As Im getting more into selling Avon Im learning that many of the suggestions that are given to you really work. For example, yesterday I met with a new customer who placed a big order partly from my suggestions. I encourage all reps to really learn each brochure and make suggestions. I suggested the customer take advantage of this campaigns SSS deal for light and lush as well as the rare pearls sale and she purchased both along with other things. If I hadn't looked through the brochure and caught up on some of the deals I might've had a pretty small order (she was only looking to purchase deodorant). So, again, learn each catalog and suggest some of the deals. They really are a great bargain and the worst thing they can say is no...

Lessons in Selling

I wanted to share this little tidbit that happened to me yesterday. My best friends mom works on the same project I do and, consequently, works within walking distance of me. She was visiting our office and stopped by to say hello. In the middle of our conversation my avon brochures (hanging up in my cube) caught her eye and she inquired. Turns out, she's been looking for an Avon rep since moving out to Indiana and she is a very good purchaser! I say this to say you never know who a potential customer can be until you put yourself out there. I was too afraid to promote myself when, if I had, I could've gotten a major purchase last campaign! LOSE THE SHYNESS! Approach people and put yourself out there so people will know. The worst thing they can say is no...

Success!!!

What a glorious day! After about 1 week of being an Avon rep I've made my first sale! Which brings me to another lesson I've learned...Many people out there may be like me and not want to bombard family,n friends, co workers, etc w/ Avon brochures. Subtly works too! I made my first sale by just having a brochure on my desk! That way, interested people come to you. Now I'm not saying you shouldn't tell people about your newfound career. By all means, share the wealth, so to speak. But, I understand just starting out can make you a little self conscious. So start out small. But, be advised you will soon have to come out of your cage :) Happy selling!

Lesson 3....

Lesson 3: Don't give up! So it's been about a week now and I still have no new customers. Plenty of potential customers but no one has actually placed an order. As a new rep, this is very discouraging, I know. But, DON'T GIVE UP! Find little things to make your little "i got this far" mark. For me, it's twitter. I know, you're thinking "what's that got to do with Avon?" Well, I'm using twitter as a social networking tool. There are millions of people on twitter. Why not befriend them and get them to your site? As an eRep you don't have to limit yourself to being local. Go out and advertise to the world! (or atleast the US and Canada lol) So, my little progress marker is that I've only been on twitter for a few days and already I have a few followers. Not enough to make a difference in my site as of yet but as my popularity grows, more people will read my twitters which will give my site (and my blog) more exposure! It all plays in together. Now, I know this may sound complicated but it really isn't and it's actually keeping me sane. If I were only going door to door with my Avon and didn't have any customers by now I'd probably be balled up in a corner crying (ok...a little melodramatic but you get the picture). What I'm saying is don't give up and find little things that show you're progress. Soon enough you'll be booming. And don't scratch out any of your ideas to get noticed. Car bumper stickers, flyers on poles, twittering, whatever. Just get yourself out there. What have you got to lose?...

Lesson 2 of Being A New Avon Representative...

Lesson 2: Be creative in getting new customers! Remember, first and foremost, everyone loves free stuff! As an Avon rep, the way you sell is all up to you! You can offer free samples to bring people in. Show them how awesome Avon is and offer samples and their sure to come back (if they liked it ofcourse). Or, have a customer (or potential customer) host a makeover party and offer the host 20% off any purchases he/she makes. Or, you can offer the entire group a percentage off. It's all up to you. But, advertise that free product...it's what you're using to draw them in. Contrary to popular belief, people still buy Avon. And many people are looking for new reps for a number of reasons (rep quit or moved, etc.). Always be on the look out. Every moment that you're out is an opportunity to get new customers! It's all about marketing. Finding the edge that differentiates you from everyone else. So, go on....FIND YOUR AVON EDGE!
